The Road

The winding, binding, turning, yearning,
Road.
The never ending, construction Ridden,
Forbidden
Road.
Who knew the wondrous blend of rock and tar could contain so much power over us.
No one dares take one step off the slab.
We only stay in the limits of what we know,
Not daring to find out what great new place could be just beyond.
It didn't used to be that way
What brings us here?
Back from the old carefree days when it didn't matter...
Conformity
Or is it just curiosity,
of why so many before have followed these never ending paths,
that connect us
bind us
to each other.

Continuation

I decided that I actually kinda liked creative writing and want to continue to write. These are rusty because its been a while and I dont have a prompt to spark an idea, but im trying and its a little bit fun :D

Moment For Life

On the brink of imagination there's a water fall
Not the normal kind you see in the mountains
It's not like that at all,
Staring down into this fountain I relive the happy smiles of Yesterday,
Here I am in this place
Where the dust of age blows away.
Now I realize there's no need to race,
For the mirror of reality is broken.
And I'm here,
for a moment.

My Story

This is me.  I have a name but for now, it's just me.  I am 20 years old and going to college in the small town I like to call New York. I was born and raised here in this city, so I'm used to the everyday comings and goings of the people around me.  Sometimes I feel numb.  Go through the motions and find myself in exactly the spot I expected I would end up.  But today. Today was different.  Something inside of me must have just flipped because here I am inside an airplane waiting to take off to who knows where.  A few minutes ago I was buying a ticket on the next available flight and this is where it got me. I have no plan just going with the flow waiting to start something different.

Where is "me" going?
Will he/she turn around and go home?
Who is ME?

Shake the Dust

This is for the friend who's always there for you when you need them the most.
The stuggling student trying to balance school and friends
for the varsity basketball player who shattered their shoulder right before the big game
For the dreamer who reaches for the stars only to be pulled down agian.
This is for the boy putting on a smile only to hold back the tears.
the sisters who try to help their older brothers see how important they are when they cant see it in themselves.
This is for those elementary days when the thing that mattered wasnt where you came from but if you could do the monkey bars.
For all of the unspoken hellos when its just too hard,
Shake the dust there's always something to reach for.
This is for the angry, the happy, the ones scared to show their true emotion.
This is for the ones who keep going and they dont know why.
So shake the dust
Shake it and Shake it, then shake it some more
Shake it to worlds without end,
Till your arms get tired,
Shake it that hard because sometimes it feels better,
because sometimes when you dont know what else to do,
it just feels good to shake the dust and let it go.

Ghandi's Inspiration...

There is something About the Morning.
When your eyes first open and you see the soft sunlight entering your room.
You hear the calm river outside and the birds chirping in the distance.
If its an especially good day you will even smell the familiar scent of bacon coming from downstairs.
When you wake up like that what could go wrong.
Its a new beginning, you have a whole day waiting and its just begun.
Energy is waiting to explode from you, and it almost seems as if that moment when we will own ourselves completely has arrived.
Nothing can upset me and I keep forgetting to put reality on my to do list.
I love that moment and as the day comes to an end...
Tonight is not the last time I'll see the light, because tomorrow it will be morning Again.
